Born in Sudbury, Suffolk, Karen has lived in a number of exotic locations throughout her childhood, as the daughter of an RAF father.  Yorkshire, however, is the area she now calls home, having married in Leeds in 1981.

Originally trained as a State Registered Nurse, Karen has worked in a variety of hospital and community settings, including a domiciliary post with Kirklees Council.

The move to HICA HomeCare comes at a time when Karen is especially enthusiastic about the care sector:  “I enjoy a challenge”, she says “and am extremely pleased to be involved in assisting with the multitude of changes associated with the personalisation agenda.  HICA are very well positioned to act on these changes with immediate effect and ensure that service users remain the number one priority at all times.  For me, personally, it is rewarding to be involved with a company that is as experienced and proven as HICA, but that still genuinely cares.”

Karen leads a team of 0ver 100 homecare workers, providing hundreds of service users with 2400 hours of domiciliary care every week.

HICA HomeCare is part of the multi-faceted HICA Group, one of the country’s leading providers of care, together with purpose-designed property for the over 55s.

In the past year HICA Homecare has recruited an additional 100 staff, bringing total numbers to almost 600. They provide care to 1300 clients, visiting their homes to provide everything from a half hour visit through to round-the-clock care, if required.

Dianne has joined HICA after over 20 years in the care sector, working as a registered nurse and a care home manager.

She said: “I’m delighted to have taken up this position and am looking forward to working closely alongside a very professional and experienced team to support the further growth of the business. HICA Homecare has already grown substantially and this will continue during the coming year, in line with the Government’s agenda to enable people to stay.

Nikki Carter is delighted to have been appointed Business Development Manager for HICA HomeCare.

Nikki is now responsible for both business and service development, with a particular emphasis on the personalisation agenda.
